Description of Fougera Surgilube Lubricating Jelly / FOUGERA:

Surgilube is comparable to KY Jelly. Like KY Jelly, Surgilube Lubricating Jelly is recommended for situations where a sterile, water-soluble, non-staining lubrication is required. Situations where Surgilube Lubricating Jelly might be used include the insertion of catheters as well as the lubrication of surgical instruments and gloves. Surgilube Lubricating Jelly is non-irritating to the skin, tissues, and mucous membranes. Because of its unique properties, Surgilube Lubricating Jelly will not affect surgical instruments, rubber or plastics. Surgilube Lubricating Jelly is especially formulated for surgical and female lubrication.

Surgilube is an important part of urethral insertions as it is a sterile lubricating jelly.  Surgilube is used to avoid potential infections.  Always use great care when inserting anything into the urethral canal as it is very sensitive and prone to infection in the event certain bacteria is allowed to enter.
